How is Phase 2 delivered?

Phase 2 will be delivered through individually arranged live practice sessions. Each student will schedule 3 practice sessions involving two case study clients and Joanne. These sessions offer a supportive, hands-on experience where Joanne will be "on your shoulder" throughout the live video call communication. Expect useful feedback, prompts when needed, and direct guidance to ensure you never feel stuck or lost. Instead, you'll gain invaluable tips and confidence by applying everything you’ve learned from Months 1-3.

It’s completely natural to have doubts, but that’s why this programme includes live supervised practice and ongoing feedback. We’re not just teaching theory - you’ll be actively applying what you learn in real-time situations. I’m nervous about the technology side - what if I struggle with the live video setup?

As long as you have a laptop or PC with a camera, a microphone, recording software, a Zoom account, and an email account to send the recording file, you’ve got the basic requirements covered. In Week 5: Tech Essentials & Troubleshooting, we’ll look at all the common problems that can occur - like audio issues, connection dropouts, or screen sharing and how to overcome them.

I prefer written communication - will live video calls be too overwhelming for me?

You can absolutely still do both! This programme isn’t about replacing written communication, but rather adding an additional skill under your belt. Some situations will be better suited to written communication, while others may benefit from the immediacy of live video consults. By learning both, you'll have the flexibility to choose the best approach for each client and scenario, giving you more options and confidence moving forward.
